More to Come
Toronto is actively expanding and enhancing its mixed-use trail system throughout the Don Valley and waterfront areas to improve connectivity, accessibility, and recreational opportunities. Several key projects highlight this ongoing development.
About the Forks of the Don
At the Forks, three waterways come together: The East Don River, West Don River and Taylor-Massey Creek. This confluence, about seven kilometres north of Toronto’s Waterfront, is the point where the Lower Don begins.
In the early 1800s, it was home to bustling mills and other industry, while its landscape featured striking natural hills and valleys. These sections were eventually quarried away in the mid-20th century to help build the Don Valley Parkway.
