We promote journalism that is originally authored by, you guessed it, journalists!
YES, YOU!
That means all articles and media must be original content. Articles written with Chat GPT or AI engines will become ineligible through AI detectors (yes, we get the irony that we use AI detectors to weed out AI articles).
OUR WRITING STYLE
Please note that we do not welcome political posts nor do we publish pieces that may be considered controversial.
We are a feel-good site that promotes positivity about our city, its people and culture. Check existing posts to familiarize yourself with our writing style and format.

FEE SCHEDULE
$75 for Each Story Consisting of:
- 140 to 150 words (maximum)
- 1 feature photo in landscape format
- Landscape raw video footage
- Portrait raw video footage
ABOUT VIDEO AND PHOTO MEDIA
Smart phone media is acceptable! We edit and finalize its content, so providing us raw footage is welcome. Be sure to submit enough footage so we can edit a clean copy with a final run time of 0:30 to 0:60 seconds. This means just enough, but not so much that it is overwhelming to sort through!
THINGS TO KNOW
- All accepted submissions, photos and videos submitted to my-toronto.ca are owned by my-toronto.ca. To publicly share your articles that have been published by my-toronto.ca, share through my-toronto.ca’s site and/or social media pages and not directly through the writer’s personal sites.
- Submissions with subject matter that have already been or are currently being covered by my-toronto.ca will not be considered.
- Articles already published on social media or other sites will not be considered.
- Writers are welcome to promote themselves/blogs inside the byline. If desired, your photo may be included using Gravatar. This can be any image, as long as it is original content from the author or the author has permission to publish the image.
