We’ve been highlighting our famous bank buildings this week, like RBC’s 24 Karat Gold windows.
Today, We Hit BMO’s Headquarters
Today, we’re at First Canadian Place where BMO calls its executive headquarters home. It impresses with its height, being Canada’s tallest tower at 208 metres but “The One” at Yonge and Bloor just topped that at 309 metres this July.
This Impressive Building Has a Lot More to Show Off Than its Height
It’s connected to The underground PATH and its shops. Their gleaming interior? An expanse of 45,000 Carrara marble panels. Costing $100 Million bucks back in ‘75, it also boasts an artful atrium on its ground floor.
It’s owned by Manulife and Brookfield, but the name honours BMO with its title as Canada’s first bank from 1817.
The beauty of this building spills into the outdoors, with fountains, waterfalls, seating areas and green spaces.
