Here are 3 facts about Toronto’s Eaton Centre you probably don’t know:
Number 1
The Eaton Centre sees up to 50 million visitors annually. This compares equally to the visitors going to Disney.
Number 2
Artist Michael Snow’s 60 life-sized fibreglass Canada geese were once decorated with red ribbons for Christmas without his permission. He sued, saying they made his work look ridiculous. Snow won the ruling so even though the mall owned the sculptures, the ribbons infringed on his moral rights.
Number 3
The Eaton Centre’s vaulted glass-ceiling was inspired by Italy’s Galleria. When we opened in ’77, it was considered revolutionary for North America.
