The final funding breakdown was a collaborative effort: $800,000 from private developers, $200,000 from the Waterfront Revitalization Initiative, $150,000 from Harbourfront Centre, and $90,000 from the city. Originally gifted by Amsterdam in 1974, this iconic Dutch-style footbridge is once again a premier skyline selfie spot—and yes, film fans, it is the exact romantic backdrop where Ian and Toula shared their first date in the 2002 hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
