Sugar Beach is a great spot for a stroll, beach life, cycling and dining. But before its completion in 2010, there was no access for the city to enjoy Toronto’s eastern shoreline.
STROLL THE BOARDWALK ALONG EASTERN SHORELINE
Now, with the ongoing construction of a new boardwalk along the promenade’s full strip, Sugar Beach just got even sweeter.
Extending out over Lake Ontario, the boardwalk project has made lots of progress so far.
Running parallel with its tree lined cobblestone walkway, this addition is the continued vision of Waterfront Toronto: To Build shoreline spaces completely accessible for all members of its community.
HOW DOES IT CHANGE THE SHORELINE?
The 8-metre wide, 750-metre long herringbone boardwalk will provide docking for boats coming into port, shady habitats for marine life and an extended walking path for those of us who love living life close to the water’s edge.
