We’ve Been Sent on a Mission
Recently, my-toronto gave a “Best Guinness in the City” mention to Lucky Clover on Lower Simcoe. Since then, our followers have shared who they think pours this famous Stout the best. Shout out to @rickycaine who sent us here: P.J. O’Brien’s on Colborne Street.
PJ O’Brien’s The Real Deal
This place is a classic proper Irish Pub. And Brad, behind the bar, served a first rate Guinness. So let’s get into it:
#1: Quality. Head is creamy, crisp white, 12-18 mm with foam sitting just above the rim without spilling. Check.
#2: Flavour. PJ O’Brien’s had that authentic, rich character that reveals clean lines. Check. Check.
#3: Presentation. Spotless glass, logo facing out. Check, Check, Check.
So the pour is genuine at PJ O’Brien’s.
But Our Search Continues: Perfect Pour + Price
However, we’re still looking for a 20-oz Guinness around $10.00 and with this one at $12.00 and Lucky Clover now upping theirs to $11.50, we’re back on our quest for the perfect pour.
Help Us Out
Want to help us in our Guinness Quest? Send us your pick! Cheers, Toronto!
