The Landmark Perched on Rogers Centre

-

One aspect of Toronto’s Rogers Centre is easy to overlook, despite this landmark drawing millions of visitors for concerts, sporting events and conventions every year.

“The Audience” is a striking installation on our 556,000 square foot building’s exterior; 15 bronze-like characters perched above Gates 2 and 13 of the stadium.

Which One Are You?

Each figure represents various subsects of fans attending sporting events. Among these characters: A father-son duo, the heckler, the photographer, the muscle man…just a few animated onlookers captured in this artwork.

Led by Canadian artist Michael Snow, inspiration was drawn from Roman, Gothic, and Hindu styles to create a vivid blend of authentic fan reactions.

Each statue spans over 6 meters in height, composed of a steel skeleton with foam and fiberglass coating.

I Spy…

Can you find the hot dog or the binoculars? Be sure to spy all 15 personas at 1 Blue Jays way and take in this magnificent piece next time you’re pregaming!
