Toronto’s international foodie scene just got tastier.
Welcome to Lunch Lady…
…a Vietnamese kitchen with a famous and rich history.
Back in Vietnam in 1995, Nguyen Thi Thanh’s simple noodle stall served up a savoury selection of daily rotating soups. In 2009, when Anthony Bourdain, on an episode of No Reservations, stumbled across the nameless soup stall, he instantly fell in love.
His Find, Our Treasure
When the buzz reached North America, the Lunch Lady launched in Vancouver, before making its way to Toronto.
Thanh’s longstanding family traditions were carefully fused with the contemporary Canadian dining experience, setting the stage for Vietnamese culture to steal the hearts, and appetites, of its many loyal patrons. And definitely here at home.
Thanh passed away just before the grand opening of the Toronto location, but her legacy continues.
Find Lunch Lady at 93 Ossington Avenue.
