Chocolate + Nuts = Power Couple
For chocolate-lovers, my-toronto brings you a healthy, nutrient-packed but decadent snack for the weekend.
And here’s some food science on why chocolate with nuts is the ultimate power couple!
Chocolate is an antioxidant with micronutrients, and when eaten with nuts, those nutrients get a superpower absorption boost. So when we’re craving chocolate almonds, we’re actually being super smart! Who knew?
See video for full recipe. Take 85% percent chocolate. Melt in double boiler and pour over parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
Add some toasted nuts and seeds (we did ours au naturale in a 350 degree oven). Sprinkle with sea salt and chill.
Break into pieces and store in fridge for up to 3 months.
