…so we decided to focus our lens on one of the city’s busiest recording and rehearsal spaces: Lynx Music.
With fully booked rooms on a regular basis, the next big thing could emerge from a Lynx Music studio spaces. We’ll be sure to watch for that!
Location
260 Emerson Avenue in the Wallace-Emerson Junction, this studio is definitley a player for Toronto’s pipeline from studio to stage. Parking in the city is a pain, so their 42-car lot with $2/hour rate is a great perk when heading from other parts of the city with gear in tow.
What Type of Equipment
This is a boutique facility with 12 music studios all with expert acoustic design and industry-leading equipment. Studio rates are between $10 to $39 an hour, depending on the room/space.
Uniquely Named Rooms
Musicians can work into the wee hours of the night inside Lynx’s uniquely themed rooms like Amphitheatre, Toronto, Street, God Save the Queen, and Half Baked.
A consistent shout-out from musicians? The Lynx staff is known to be extra helpful and supportive, which helps keep those creative juices flowing.
Don’t Eat the Cables
The shared kitchen and snack machines are cool, but more importantly, the vending machines selling sticks, strings, cables and batteries.
