It’s True
Toronto’s getting a new basketball hub, and it’s not just for WNBA’s Toronto Tempos.
The City, along with the team, have revealed plans for a new training facility at Exhibition Place that will double as a public space.
Where?
Located near Coca-Cola Coliseum, the venue will feature indoor and outdoor courts, park space, and year-round access for the community.
The First of its Kind
It’s the first WNBA training centre designed with built-in public use, with at least 2,200 hours a year dedicated to local programming, drop-ins, and camps.
The project will replace an underused parking lot and help connect Fort York, The Bentway, and the waterfront, turning the area into something people will actually use.
With backing from Serena Williams, Masai Ujiri, and Lilly Singh, the Tempo are planting serious roots in Toronto. If approved, construction could start this fall and wrap in 2028.
