#1: The Drake
First up? The Drake Hotel at the corner of Queen and Beaconsfield.This was an 1890s
Railway hub and one of Toronto’s wealthiest areas, but it’s now a trendy spot for casual eats and drinks. A laid back alternative to their bustling rooftop and underground nightclub. Happy Hour is from 4 to 6 offering sliders, maki rolls and full pint lagers.
#2: Death and Taxes
From here, it’s just a hop, skip and a jump over to Death and Taxes Free House. Literally! It’s straight across the street on Beaconsfield Avenue.
Death and Taxes is a chill and stylish patio with comfy couches. Reminiscent of a true British pub fitting in with its trendy Queen West ‘hood. They have daily drink specials and weekly trivia nights. Oh! And don’t miss out on the rosemary fries.time for a short walk
From Death and Taxes, we’re going to take about a 2 minute walk east on Queen to the Dog and Bear at 1100 Queen West.
#3: Dog and Bear
The Dog and Bear’s patio is super casual with pub food and picnic tables. A perfect people-watching spot. This British and Canadian pub is a chill hang for drinks.
#4: Gloria at The Great Hall
Next is a short jaunt over to Gloria in the Great Hall. While no patio, this airy and lively space is a chic, French-American destination for both dinner and late-night drinks. They have a daily Martini Happy Hour from 5–7pm. A spirited atmosphere merging social spaces with an energetic cocktail bar amid comfy lounge seating, it’s a great spot to try a fun and creative menu in a vibrant but unpretentious setting.
