The English Premier League starts its regular season today (August 15th) and with a very large following in Toronto, the supporters clubs are gearing up for what we Canadians call soccer, but let’s get it right and say football…the world’s most popular sport with an estimated fan base of 4 billion people. There are 20 teams in the Premier League, but Liverpool and Manchester United are Toronto’s most attended supporters clubs. If you want to catch a match among these engaged footy fans, be prepared for their energetic, cursing vocal support at these locations:
Liverpool’s official supporter’s club hails at the Elephant and Castle … 212 King Street West in the Theatre District
While Manchester United calls home the Madison Avenue Pub with its large capacity of 2,000 people. They’re located at 14 Madison Avenue in the Annex.
