Every holiday season, a crew including engineers, riggers and planners is responsible for installing North America’s tallest Christmas Tree standing at 114 feet at CF Eaton Centre. The star topper alone stands at 6ft tall!
That’s a Lot of Lights!
Complete with 70,000 LED lights, these little guys are the main attraction inside an impressive 15-minute animated show every hour.
Wait…Did You Say Snow?!
Each hourly show includes snow falling from the skylit rafters. And, yes, it actually feels cold!
What are Some Other Fun Facts About the Tree?
- Takes 2 weeks to install
- Lights are restrung every single year
- Cadillac Fairview owners donate $500 every time it “snows” (up to $100,000) to CF Play Makers (building play spaces for kids)
- Supplies multiple jobs such as event staff, security, performers, musicians, maintenance, installation and design teams, safety and storage
- Built in modular sections that are assembled on-site
- Bare Naked Ladies have hosted the Opening Tree Lighting Ceremony for the past 2 years
