Free samples from LCBO’s Vintage Wine Collection are poured every Saturday from 12:00pm – 5:00pm at their Queens Quay and Cooper Street location.
WHY ARE VINTAGE WINES MORE EXPENSIVE?
Unlike non-vintage wines that are made from multiple growing seasons (to produce consistent flavours year after year), vintage wines are made from grapes harvested in the same year. This makes each vintage a unique experience, revealing all the trials and tribulations these little grapes mustered over the past year.
WHAT WINES MAKE THE CUT?
LCBO’s expert team travels the globe to curate their Vintage Collection. So before these wines blissfully hit our lips, they undergo rigorous blind tasting panels. Through these evaluations, LCBO assesses their quality and value before bringing these babies to their forever homes across Ontario.
WHAT’S THE APPEAL?
Vintage lovers enjoy contemplating the unique characteristics of each growing season and the factors that influence the wines’ flavour profile. They typically age and improve over time.
With 4 different samples to swoosh and savour every week, it’s a great freebie in the city.
