Situated in Toronto’s vibrant St. Lawrence neighbourhood, the Gooderham Building is one of our most famous landmarks.
It is located at the intersection of Front, Wellington and Church Streets.
Completed in 1892, the Goodherham is the oldest flat-iron building in the world, with 2nd place going to New York City.
This red-clay, brick structure was originally built by the founder of Gooderham & Worts Distillery who built it for his son, George Gooderham Senior.
The Gooderham is rumored to have had secret, underground tunnels connecting to a bank across the street for money transports, but this remains hard to prove due to limited documentation. .
This area of Toronto is a fun area for shopping and chilling out. The St. Lawrence Market, animal-themed Berczy Park, restaurants, patios, cafes and sidewalk shops make it a great space for exploring.
